The story of of what happened between Rabbi Yaakov Shimshon of Shepetivka and the author of the Noda B’Yehuda regarding the sefer ‘Toldot Yaakov Yosef’ by Rabbi Yaakov Yosef of Polnae. In the edition before us is a different wording than previously printed, according to a manuscript which the author acquired. Jerusalem 1932, Zuckerman Printing Press.
The sefer was found in manuscript form during the war among the writings of Rabbi Eliyahu Hazan in Alexandria, who received it from a Russian chassid who came to Egypt.
The debate between the Rabbi of Shepetivka with the author of the Noda B’Yehuda, about the book ‘Toldot Yaakov Yosef’ had previously been printed several times, but the article before us contains changes than previously printed editions. Especially, it contains the questions the Noda B’Yehuda had on the ‘Toldot’ mainly regarding things which appeared in the ‘Toldot’ on the topic of ‘Teshuvat HaMishkal’ which did not appear in the other editions at all.
