Letters from Rabbanim from the city of Djerba in Tunis about receiving Olim and the education of the children of the city who ascended to Israel with religious education. Djerba 1954-1955.
1.Letter from HaGoan Rabbi Shlomo Mazuz member of the committee of Bet Din of Djerba to the Center of Agudat Yisrael in Tel Aviv to inform them of the visit of the Deputy Chief Rabbi and director of the Yeshiva ‘Ohr Torah’. The visit was due to many important complications especially concerning Aliyah and education.
2.The letter is supplemented by stencil copy. Letter from Rabbanim on the phenomenon of religious missionaries who represented themselves as a religious youth movement and caused the people of the community who desired to ascend to Israel to sin.
3.The third letter (stencil) warns the Chief Rabbinate of Tunis that our Jewish brethren who ascended from them and from the city of Djerba and are currently in Eretz Yisrael or those who are waiting to ascend to Israel to join the religious settlements of the religious histadrut, Poal Hamizrachi, Hamizrachi, Poal Agudat Yisrael, and Agudat Yisrael. So that they are assured that their sons and daughter are educated in Eretz Yisrael in Talmud Torah with sanctity and observing all the Mitzvos (commandments)’.
