Admo”r Rabbi Yehudah Leib Eiger (1816-1888) grandson of Hagoan Rabbi Akiva Eiger, became close to Chassidut during his youth and became a student of Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Kotzk, after that of Rabbi Mordechei Yosef of Izhbitza. Later he set his home in the city of Lublin, there he attracted many followers and admirers, and he was famous in Poland and its surroundings as a holy person and ‘baal mofes’. His most famous student was Rabbi Tzadok HaKohen of Lublin zt”l.
