Sefer ‘Yosef Ometz’, by the head of the Dayanim of Frankfurt of four hundred years ago, Rabbi Joseph Yuspa Hahn Norlingen ab"d and Rosh Yeshiva in Frankfurt, on laws and customs according to the daily schedule of the whole year, with Frankfurt customs. First edition. Frankfurt D Main, 1723.

[8], 212 pages, 16cm. Original cover antique and damaged, stained. Good condition.

From the famous seforim of Ashkenazi Jewery customs, written by Rabbi Joseph Yuspa Hahn Norlingen head of the Dayanim of Frankfurt D Main, who finished his writing in year of 1630, seven years before his passing. Rabbi Joseph Yuspa was born about 1670, a descendant from a special family, and from his youth his diligence and fear of heaven was noticeable, and from very young he encouraged spreading the Torah. He was from the Head of the Dayanim of Frankfurt D Main and from important educators of the Jewish nation.

He passed away on the 9th day of Nison 1637. His grandson  HaGaon Rabbi Moshe Darum – who also served as Dayan in Frankfurt brought this first to print 90 years later, in the year 1723. From then it was only printed several times [Zitomyr 1870 and Frankfurt D Main 1928] After that it was only copy printed alot, as this is considered as one of the important sefarim of the roots of Ashkenaz Jews customs.

 

On this copy are two signatures of ownership: On the cover-page signature "ג’ ב"ר שמעון ז"ל אולמאן". On the last page part of the ownership listed, is erased, "זה השיך — מק"ק מאסבאך".
