The Holy Gaon Rabbi Asher Anshel Yungreis of Csenger, son of the Holy Rabbi Shmuel HaLeivi of Csécse and environs, admired and revered, especially for the remarkable miracles he performed for the sick. Many of the notable Rabbanim of Hungary, were descendants from his highly respectable family. It is told that by the gathering of Rabbanim in Hungary before the World War, the grandsons of HaRav of Csenger was requested to get up from their seats. 80 out of 150 participants, stood up.
Most from the family and their children, were destroyed in the Holocaust, but the holy and venerable memory continued to pulsate tremors of holiness amongst the world of Torah and Chassidut. His holy sefer ‘Menuchat Asher’ was accepted with reverence by great righteous scholars and by the public in general.
