Hand written letter and signature of Rabbi Shlomo Merker ab"d Kosminka [Kalish area] to the Gaon Rabbi Yechezkel Lipshitz ab"d Kalish. In the letter Rabbi Shlomo Merker of Kosminka requests from Rabbi Yechezkel Lipshitz if he can send his letter to HaRav A.Y. Kook from Jerusalem.
On the page, another letter added in his handwriting and with the signature of Rabbi Yechezkel Lipshitz ab"d Kalish to HaRav A.Y. Kook and to the Rabbinical court of Jerusalem on this matter. In the margins of the letter HaRav Lipshitz writes a request "To bring my heartfelt blessing in my name to the holy place, my friend and light of the nation the great priestly Moh"r Avrham Yitzchok shlit"a".

Rabbi Yechezkel Lifshitz (1862-1922) at the age of 24 he served as Rav of important cities Jurbarkas, Bauska, and the Gaon Rabbi Avraham Yitzchok HaKohen Kook sat in his place in this community. From the year 1880 he served as Rav in Plotzk. In year 1907 he was crowned as Rabbi of Kalish and he served as president of Agudat HaRabbanim in Poland.
