The Admo"r Rabbi Pinchos Menachem Alter of Gur [1926-1996] youngest son of Hrh"k the Imrei Emes of Gur, from the leaders of the last generation and from great instigator who stood at the head of the Orthodox Jewry. Served as the Rosh Yeshiva of Sefas Emes starting from the year 1957, and after the death of his brother-in-law Rabbi Yitzchok Meir HaKohen Levine who was president of Agudat Yisrael, he started serving this centeral national movement. He stood at the right side of his brothers the Admori"m the Beit Yisrael and the Lev Simcha of Gur and throughout the years he toiled for the establishment of the Torah institutions of Chasidut Gur. For many years he served as member of Moetzes Gedolai HaTorah and he was from the main speakers in all public gatherings. During his last years he served as leader of many tens of thousands of Jews until his passing while storming the heavens hours after the end of the Purim Tish in his Beit Medrash.
HaGaon Rabbi Moshe Shmuel Shapiro [1916-2006] Rosh Yeshiva Beair Yaakov, member of Moetzes Gedolai HaTorah of Agudat Yisrael and Degel HaTorah, from respectable family Shapiro, grandson of the Netzi"v of Velozhen and nephew of HaGaon Rabbi Chaim of Brisk, students of the Geonim Rabbi Elchanan Waserman, Rabbi Baruch Ber Leibovitz, Rabbi Reuven Katz, Rabbi Yitzchok Zev Soloveitzik of Brisk and Rabbi Isser Zalmen Meltzer.
Besides his great toil in Torah and musser, spreading the Torah and leading the Yeshiva,
he carried the yolk of the nation, many years he took part actively leading activities of Agudat Yisrael, he attended many of gatherings and meetings giving them resourceful advice. As per the request of Hgre"m Shach he was active for Degel HaTorah during his last years but resigned in the year 2002.
