The righteous Gaon and Mekubal Rabbi Yehuda Zev Leibowitz [1920-2009] was born in Satmar – Hungary. He learned by great Rabbi’s: Rabbi Mordechai Ezriel Weinberger the Rav of Margarethen, MaHar"Y Rozner from Seklhid (Săcueni),MaHar"Y of Satmar. After the Holocaust in which he lost his whole family he emigrated to Tel Aviv, there he lived alone and never got married. He learned Kabalah and Chassidut by Rabbi Yehuda Tzvi Brandwein of Stretin, and joined the group of Mekubalim Rabbi Moshe Yair Weinstock, Rabbi Yosef Weinstock, Rabbi Yosef Waltuch and others. Slowly his name became known as a great scholar, who was familiar in Kabalah. In his later years, after he moved to Bnei Brak, he became more famous as a miraculous Mekubal. He was close to the Holy Rabbi Aharon of Belza, Rabbi Yekusiel Yehuda Halberstam of Klausenburg, Rabbi Pinchas Menachem Alter of Gur and all Admo"rim of Ruzhin –Sadigura, Bohush and Vaslui. Many go to pray at his grave in Bnei Brak.
