Personal copy of the famous Chasid Rabbi Yisrael Ber Odesser ‘הסבא בעל הפתק’ (the Saba Ba’al HaPetek), from the elderly Breslov chassidim of the previous generation and leader of the ‘Na Nach’ movement.
This edition was printed ‘בהשתדלות ר’ ישראל דב אודסר’ (with the determination of R’ Yisrael Dov Odesser), and this very copy is adorned with his hand signature from his last years.

The "Saba" Rabbi Yisrael Dov (Ber) Odesser [1886-1994], was born in Safed to his family of Karlin Chassidim. In his youth he became close to Breslov Chassidut and was a disciple of Rabbi Yisroel Karduner (who was a fourth generation Breslov Hasid that lived in Safed) and from additional elderly chassidim of Breslov. He became famous at the end of his life following the mysterious letter on a note in which was written the sentence: "נ נח נחמ נחמן מאומן", therefor he was called "הסבא בעל הפתק" (the Saba Ba’al HaPetek).
