Historical! Letter from the Holy Gaon Rabbi Yeshaya Bardaki requesting help and assistance of James Finn who was a British Consul in Jerusalem, in the then Ottoman Empire. Jerusalem 1860.

The letter deals with rescue and assistance of praise and approbation for a dear Jew as stated: This historical letter is very interesting since Rabbi Yeshaya himself refused to accept charity money that was distributed by the Consul James Finn claiming it a sin to accept charity from gentile heretics, which delays the final redemption. Understandably, it can be differentiated that this letter is a request for James Finn to help in the trial but no need or request to acquire money from him.
