A partial glimpse of Torah correspondence of some tens of years ago. The letter is full of affection and admiration from the Moron the Rishon L’Tzion Gaon Rabbi Ovadya Yosef to his close friend The Gaon Rabbi Eliezer Yehuda Waldenberg, member of the ‘Beit Din HaGadol’ and from the important Poskim of the last generation.
In the letter Moron Rabbi Ovadya Yosef thanks the Gaon the ‘Tzitz Eliezer’ on the tenth volume of his sefer of answers in Halacha, he sent to Rabbi Ovadya Yosef .
. . "אורו עיני וכל מעיני בהביטי בספרו היקר "ציץ אליעזר" העשירי קודש לה"
Moron exaggerates his praise for the Gaon Rabbi Eliezer Yehuda and expresses :
"כי זקני ת"ח כל זמן שמזקינים דעתם מתווספת עליהם" . On the second part of the letter Moron discusses about ansewring the ‘Kedusha’ of Minchah to those that already prayed Maariv. He expands and prolongs and on this subject that the Tzitz Elazer brought in his sefer. Finishing of Moron writes: ‘יש לי עוד משא ומתן בזה מימי חרפי ואין כאן מקום להאריך’.
Interesting observation on the bottom margin of the letter, Moron Rabbi Ovadya Yosef writes : "’נות ביתי דורשת בשלום רעיתו הרבנית תחי” (Greetings from my wife to your wife the Rabbanit). Moron continues and send greetings to his son the Gaon Rabbi Simcha Bunim Waldenberg and blesses him warmly and affectionately with health and joy (nachas) מכל צאצאיו הברוכים כל רואיהם יכירום כי הם זרע ברך ה’ לגאון ולתפארת אמן.
