Regulations made by representatives of the community by the gathering of the Great Committee called ‘Congress’ who gathered on behalf of the King and his Ministers in the capital city of Buda-Pest… 1869, to establish and organize direction for the Jewish community living in Hungary and Siebenbürgen (Transilvania). Translated to Hebrew by Shimon Bacharach. Government University Printing, Alt-Ofen, 1869. Rare.
[1] , 68, [1] pages, 23 cm. This sefer brings the ‘Takanot’ (regulations) that were set by the heads of the Hungarian Jewish communities of the ‘neológ irányzat’ movement (Neolog Judaism is a mild reform movement within Judaism, mainly in Hungarian-speaking regions of Europe, which began in the late 19th century), who were gathered by order of the royal government as ‘Congress’, in the year 1869. The Orthodox heads of the communities separated from the ‘Congress’ and did not acknowledge the regulations.
