Born in Munkatch to Rabbi Avraham Weis, son of Rabbi Shmuel Tzvi Shub (Shochet) of Kalov. He was called on the name of the holy Rabbi Yitzchak Eizik of Kalov, by whom his father was raised after he was orphaned in his childhood. As a child he traveled with his father to the courtyard of the Holy Rabbi Tzvi Elimelech of Dinov. Married to Rebbetzin Chaya the daughter of the wealthy Rabbi Klonomos Kalmen Eisdorfer, from the village Pasika close to Munkatch. For 17 years he lived by his father-in-law, as well after his passing with his mother-in-law.
After his marriage in the year 1841, when Rabbi Tzvi Elimelech of Dinov passed away he started to travel together with his brother Rabbi Shmuel Tzvi to the holy Rabbi Yehuda Tzvi of Rozla son-in-law of Rabbi Tzvi Hirsh of Ziditchov. After this Rabbi’s passing in the year 1848 he became a Chassid of the holy Rabbi Shalom Rokaech of Belz. In his sefarim he brings Divrei Torah of this Rabbi. After the Passing of the Saar Shalom of Belz he traveled to the courtyard of the holy Rabbi Yitzchak Eizik of Ziditchov and later he traveled to the holy Rabbi Chaim Sanz. His Rabbi Rabbi Yitzchak Eizik Ziditchov appointed him to copy and prepare his manuscripts. In addition he traveled to the courtyard of the holy Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch of Rimanov, the holy Rabbi Yisrael of Ruzhin, and the holy Rabbi Chaim of Kosov.
In the year 1859 he was appointed as Rabbi of Svaliava in Ukraine, where he served for 20 years. In this community he had many opponents who made his life bitter. According to the Ziditchov Rabbi’s advice to accept a new employment, in the year 1877 he selected from many suggestions to serve as Abd in Munkatch alond with the Rav of the city Rabbi Shlomo Shapiro. He served at this post until the end of his life. In addition he dealt with Halacha and Talmud and also with Kabbalah.
