‘בילאנץ משנת תר"ע’ (‘Balance of the year 1910′).Table of income and expenses and balance calculations on a wall bulletin, handmade, by Yitzchak (Avraham) ben R’ Zev. Decorated with symbols of Shivtei Yisrael (12 tribes) and the map of Nachalat HaShevatim (portions of land of the twelve tribes in Israel). With signatures of personnel of the community: ‘assistant’, ‘cashier’, and ‘secretary’. With floral decorations, lions, Star of David, symbols of the Shevatim, and map of Nachalat Shivtei Yisrael.
[1] Chart, thick paper, caption in black and red color, with colored illustration. Labeled. 58×91 cm. On the list of income are 473 names of men and women who donated to the community fund. On the list of expenses are detailed sections of expenses of commodities bought for the need of the community. The name of the artist appears on the illustrated banner between the two lions at the bottom of the page.
The symbol of Shevet Efrayim on the chart is a unicorn, as appears in several additional places. This represented symbol may have originated in error, resulting that in the past the symbol of Efrayim represented a ram, and following the translations of the Torah to Greece and Latin translating the word ‘Reaim’ (ram, oryx ), to ‘unicorn’ caused confusion.
Fold marks, aging stains, tiny tears around the page, general condition good.
