(Migu or Miggo, a Talmudic law concept relating to civil law disputes. A migu is a reason that a claim that would otherwise be rejected by Jewish law, should be accepted, based on the fact that the litigant could have prevailed in the case based on a different claim were he disposed to lie.)

The righteous gaon Rabbi Mordechai Brisk abd and ram of Tăşnad [1886-1944], son of Rabbi Yehoshua Brisk. Disciple of Rabbi Mordechai Leib Winkler a posek of the generation. Son-in-law of the holy Rabbi Shmuel Zalmen Weinberger abd of Margreten, there he served under his father-in-law in Dayyanus and also established a Yeshiva. He was very adored in Halacha by great poskim: Rabbi Yitzchak Shmelkish, the Darkei Teshuva of Munkatch, the Maharshag, and more.
He published sefer ‘Shut Mahariatz’ (from his wives grand father) with additional notations ‘Binyan Yehoshua’ on the name of his father. Served as abd Tăşnad and established a large yeshiva there of more than 500 youths, the Yeshiva was considered the largest in all of Romania.
During the years of the Holocaust he answered questions in Halacha and dealt with permitting agunot from many men of the labor brigades who did not return home. His answers in ‘Shut Maharam Brisk’ were published still during the war.
