Sefer ‘Meir Nativ’, the first concordance on Tanach in Hebrew language, authored by Rabbi Isaac Nathan ben Kalonymus, Third edition. Venice 1564.
After many years that the Christian priests composed books of cataloging verses of Tanach (in order to help them in theological debates with the Jews) Rabbi Isaac Nathan ben Kalonymus, French Jewish philosopher and controversialist from the city of Arles in the Provence, who lived in the first half of the 15th century, stood up and acted. He composed the first Hebrew Concordance on Tanach. He writes in his introduction that this work was written to prevent oppressors of the Jews from using incorrect interpretations of verses in their disputes with Jews. He acquired for himself a name in his generation as very great and knowledgeable in Torah and Philosophy in debates with the Christians. Many of his manuscript collections remained.
