Protection for success with special names-‘Shaimot’ spacificly for protection from epidemic, established by the Holy Yismach Moshe of újhely. Shimon Blank Press, Szikszó.

This important and accepted protection, seems to be the first printed, not found in collections or libraries and not in the International Library. There are later copies, of which the earliest is from about 1900.

R’ Shimon Blank Press, was a very small printing house which existed for a few years in Szikszó no later than 1880. There is almost nothing to be found printed there. The son of R’ Shimon, Yitzchak Blank, passed away in his elder years in 1900. Therefor this copy must have been printed by his father before 1880. Also the lettering and techniques are not later than the year 1880.

There are many copies found from several later printers, until today many Jews used this wonderful segula of protection and hanging them in there homes, especially during an epidemic. This copy here is still from the times of the Holy Yeitev Lev of Sighet (grandson of the Yismach Moshe) and is not found in libraries, including the International Library.
