Very rare letter, all personally hand written by the holy and renowned Rabbi Avraham Yaakov of Sadigura author of ‘Avir Yaakov’, from great sages and leaders of his generation, from the heads of Agudat Yisrael, which was sent to Rabbi Mordechai Bauminger upon the passing of his dear father Rabbi Yaakov Yehoshua Bauminger from Husiatyn family, son-in-law of the ‘Ohalei Yaakov’ of Husiatyn and grandson of the ‘Saba Kadisha’ Rabbi Yisrael of Husiatyn, eldest of Ruzhyn sages.
The wordings of the letter are filled with emotion and passion, which is not the usual hidden way of the Ruzhyn dynasty of the ‘Avir Yaakov’ of Sadigura, and the great tragedy of the passing of a holy sage is very noticeable.
מה מאוד נדהמתי מהאסון הנורא בהלקח ממנו אביו היקר הגדול בתורה ובחכמה ז"ל עד שלא יכלתי לאחוז עטי ולכתוב לך יקירי וחביבי נחמה האבידה גדולה מאד לבית הסבא הגדול שליט"א ולכלנו כי היה איש הלכה והמדע ובאהבה גדולה למדינת ישראל והאבידה הגדולה הא אבידה לכל המדינה מאד נוגע הדבר ללבי מי מי ימלא את החלל הריק שנשאר בבית הוסיאטין שליט"א, אבל מנהג ישראל תורה הוא לכתוב…
And he then continues with his condolence wishes and signs in full: ‘אברהם יעקב במוהר"ר ישראל מסדגורה’, which is the exactly name of his holy grandfather Rabbi Avraham Yaakov of Sadigura son of the holy Rabbi Israel from Ruzhyn
