Rabbainu Rabbi Yehonatan Eibeshitz (1694-1764), an outstanding gaon from the great sages of the generation, from whom Torah spread all over Europe, and great scholars mentioned him with much reverence. Learned Torah from disciples of Rabbi Avraham Broda (Rabbi Yonah Landsdofer, and Rabbi Netanel Weil the ‘Korban Netanel’) Therefore he considered himself as his student. Served as Rav in the community of Metz and AHW (Union of 3 communities Altona, Hamburg, Wandsbek). During his Rabbanut in AHW a great controversy arose after he distributed Amulets, this continued for several years
and was heard in many Jewish communities.
