. by the great scholar Rabbi Chizkiya di Silva. Printed in the home of the wealthy David Tartas, Amsterdam 1692. 

[2], 116, [1], 116-130 pages. With lable: "מעזבון הרה"צ ר’ יחיאל הלר זצ"ל…" (inheritance of Hrhtz R’ Yechiel Heler zt"l), along with antique ownership signature partly cut.
Rabbi Chizkiya Di Silva (1656-1698).  From great poskim of previous generations. His sefer ‘Pri Chadash’ on Shulchon Aruch is considered a basis in Halachah. Born in Livorno and immigrated to Jerusalem, learning there diligently, extensively and thoroughly and served as Rav and Rosh Yeshivat ‘Beit Yaakov Viga’.  In the year 1689 he was sent to Europe as Shadar (fundraiser), since the yeshiva closed because of financial difficulties, he left for Europe and traveled through Italy, France, England and Holland as a rabbinic emissary. When he reached Amsterdam, he was greeted with great honor, and was invited to serve as Rabbi of Amsterdam. In Amsterdam, in 1692, he had published the first volume of his sefer Pri Chadash on Yoreh De’ah. That same year, he returned to Jerusalem to teach in his yeshiva, which had been reopened. 

Rabbi Yechiel Heller [the second] (1866-1948), son of Rabbi Avraham Meir, disciple of Yeshivat Valozhyn, was ordinated for Hora’ah by great scholars of his generation among them Rabbi Yitzchak Elchanan Spektor,   the Aderet and the Aruch HaShilchan. Son-in-law of Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch Lempert from Stolovitz and author of ‘Piskei HaGra’. Rabbi Yechiel served tens of years as Rav in Koidanov, author of Sefer HaMitzvot LeRambam according to the order of the Parshiot HaTorah. He immigrated to Israel in 1921, and later went to live in Petach Tikva.
Wood and leather cover worn and detached, title page detached and damaged, damaged corners of first few pages, aging stains. Large oil stain at the bottom of pages, moth holes. Fair condition.
