"צורת הרב הגאון העצום שר התורה… מו"ה אברהם שמואל בנימין סופר זצ"ל אב"ד ור"מ בק"ק פרעסבורג יע"א. לשנה טובה תכתבו ותחתמו". (Portrait of the Rav and Gaon ‘Sar HaTorah’… Rabbi Avraham Shamuel Binyamin Sofer zt’l abd and ram in the holy community of Pressburg. LeShana Tova Tikateivu V’Teichataimu’).
[1] postcard, with portrait of the holy gaon the ‘Ketav Sofer’, son of Moron the holy Ketav Sofer close to the time of his passing. At the side of the picture appears the signature and year 1907. On the back is ownership of: ‘ה"ב יאקוב מנחם שטארק מק"ק מידאלוויטץ יצ"ו’, noting he received this postcard from: ‘הבחור ‘אשר אנשיל מק"ק מידאלוויטץ. סלוואקיע.
The holy gaon the ‘Ketav Sofer’, (1815-1872) succeeded as Rav and Rosh Yeshiva his holy father the Moron Chatam Sofer, famous outstanding leader of Hungarian Jewry innovated many chiddushim on Torah, Shas, Shut and more. Established thousands of students, among them many great Rabbanim from the following generation.
