The Holy Rabbi Yisrael of Medzhybizh grandson of the illustrious Holy Baal ShemTov, and grandson of the Holy Rabbi Nachman of Horodenka and brother of the Holy Rabbi Nachman of Breslov, who’s life story was full of miracles and wonders as is related among Chassidim, he died in his childhood and his mother pleaded by the grave-site of the Holy Baal Shem Tov for Heavenly mercy and he was revived, from then he was called ‘רבי ישראל מת’ (Rabbi’ Yisrael ‘der toiter’ [-the dead]).
On this copy there is also a reference place marked in pencil on the back of the title page, and the stamp: הקלויז של אדמו"ר הק’ מרן תפארת ישראל שליט"א מטשארטקוב בעיה"ק צפת’. plus additional stamps.
