Rabbi Moshe Yisrael Silman hy"d, sage,   and very sharp gaon, renowned for his genius and fear of Heaven. Born in 1908 to his mother Yenta and his father Rabbi David abd Gostynin (son-in-law of the holy Meir Yechiel Halevi of Ostrowiec).  In 1922, after the passing of his father, he traveled to learn by his grandfather in Ostrowiec. When he was 18 years he married his wife from Sanz Miriam daughter of the holy Rabbi Yechial Nosson Halberstam, abd of New-Sanz and Bardejov (Czechoslovakia), great grand daughter of the holy Rabbi of Sanz. After the passing of his father-in-law in the year 1934 he was appointed as abd in the Bardejov community. At the time of the Holocaust he returned to Ostrowiec, and was deported from there in the first deportation to the concentration camp. And so all of his family and most of his city were killed. His hand written notebook "Sefer Meir Eynei Chachamim", 2nd edition, has been preserved by miracle and found after the war in his apartment, was published in 1952. Responses from him are brought in several sefarim among them Shut ‘Mikdashei HaShem’.
