"Came here from the Holy Land a friend of G-d and a friend of me, the outstanding rabbinic Hasid Rabbi Baruch David HaCohen son of a friend R. Levi Yitzchak from Vishnitsa, my wife’s relative, and in his hands were the holy writings exciting hearts to our father in heaven. So I copied them to be remembered in the future generations".
Manuscript, written by an un-known author, who was most probably a profound Hasidic figure in the Diaspora, contains copies of letters and writings of the Holy Rabbis: Rabbi Avraham of Kalisk, Rabbi Menchem Mendel of Vitebsk, The Alter rebbi of Chabad, Rabbi Elimelech of Lizhensk and his son Rabbi Elazar, Rabbi Mordechai Malekhevich, Rabbi Zvi Elimelech of Dinov and others.
Most of all the letters were printed with slight modifications in the books such as "Hibat Ha’aretz and Birkat Ha’aretz", "Peri Ha’aretz" and "Yesod HaMaala". The letters deal with matters of faith, and constitute a cornerstone in the story of the hardships experienced by the first Hasidim who immigrated to Eretz Israel and their pure work with immense devotion.
