Historical! Halachah verdict about the burial place of the Holy Rabbi Aharon of Belz in Jerusalem and not in Tiberia, personally hand written by the great posek of the generation Rabbi Pinchas Epstein Ravd of Jerusalem.
Background: The 21th day of Av of 1957, to the great sorrow of the Chareidi Jewry the Holy Rabbi Aharon of Belz passed away. Because he did not write or say before his passing the place to be buried, many righteous claimed he should be buried in the old unique cemetery in the holy city of Tiberias, where he had requested that his brother the Holy Rav of Bilgerai to be buried several years prior. The Rav of Tchebin determined to bury him on Har HaMenuchot in the holy city of Jerusalem.
In this letter written right after the 11 months of the passing of the Holy Rabbi of Belz reveals that the great gaon Rabbi Pinchas Epstein Ravd of the Eidah HaChareidis and from great poskim of the generation, was also secretly involved in the ruling of this sublime matter, the burial place of the sage of the generation.
The lengthy Halachah verdict, was written as a response to the question by Rabbi Meir Shts’aransḳi, founder of Beit Yaakov in the new settlement and president of the Chevra Kadisha in Tel Aviv, who was requested about transporting deceased from city to city, from different cities to the Holy city of Tiberias, and bringing up deceased from all over the country to Jerusalem or the reverse, out of Jerusalem according to the will or honor of the deceased and their children.
The gaon Rabbi Pinchas Epstein expands and brings up various sides. revealing: גם על האדמו"ר מבעלז זצ"ל סברו הרבה להעלותו לטבריה, אך אחרי שאלת הרבנים ואצלי והכרעת הרב מטשעבין שליט"א קברו אותו כאן, כן להרב ר’ יוסף גרשון הורביץ ז"ל….
