Antique shofar from the holy righteous Rabbi Mordechai Leib Winkler ‘Mader Rav’, given to his revered disciple the gaon Rav of Bonyhad, by the Rebbetzen in appreciation for his service and assistance to the Mader Rav for many years.
With this great shofar, the Rav of Bonyhad blew for years at the Yeshiva of Belz on Agrippas Street.
The shofar is curved, medium size, narrow, the outside length about 48 cm. Appears Kosher and mehudar. Attached is hand written authorization.
The holy gaon the ‘Mader Rav’ Rabbi Mordechai Leib son of Rabbi Naftali Winkler (1845-1932), disciple of Moron ‘Ketav Sofer’ in Yeshivat Pressburg. Served as abd and Rosh Yeshiva in the city of Mád in Hungary. Author of sefarim Shut ‘Levushei Mordechai’ and more. From the pillars of Hora’ah in Hungary and one of the great respondents of his generation. From his many disciples were great scholars and Morah Hora’ah’s for many, among them Rabbi Mordechai Brisk author of Shut ‘MaHaram Brisk’, and Rabbi David Yehuda Silbertein abd Veitzen. His son-in-law from his first marriage was the Maritz Dushinski Gavd Jerusalem.
