* Sefer Petach HaDvir [Part two], principle sefer of Sefardi rulings, on Shulchan Aruch, Orach Chaim, authored by Rabbi Chaim Binyamin Pontremoli, First edition. Izmir, 1863. With approbation from Rabbi Chaim Palagi.
On the title page is a hand written dedication by The author to the Gaon Rabbi Avraham Laredo, one of the Dayanim from the court house of Rabbi Yitzchak son of Walid from great scholars of Morocco (He is mentioned in sefer ‘Chaim BeYad’ from Rabbi Chaim Palagi: "מתנתא דתורה מאתי הקטן המחבר ס"ט למעלת הרב המובהק רב רחומאי… אברהם לארידו נר"ו ".)
Rabbi Chaim Binyamin Pontremoli from great poskim who influenced the general Eastern Judaism and specifically in Turkey, was from the scholars of Izmir and served as Dayan in the great court house of Rabbainu Chaim Palagi. Son of Rabbi Chiya Pontremoli author of sefer ‘Tzapichis BiDvash’. Son-in-law of the Chacham Bashi Rabbi Yehoshua Avraham Krispin, author of ‘Avraham BeMachze’. Great scholars of the generations judged a lot according to his rulings, his Halachic mind was greatly accepted by great Poskim of generations until today.
The ‘Sdei Chemed’ wrote on him: "הרב פתח הדביר כל רז לא אניס ליה, והרגיל בספרו הקדוש יודע ומכיר שדרכו בקודש חופש כל חדרי תורה בעניין שעוסק בו דברי הפוסקים ראשונים ואחרונים" (שדי חמד, מערכת יוה"כ סי’ ג אות כד).
Rabbi Chaim Palagi and his father-in-law Rabbi Yehoshua Avraham Krispin wrote on him in the approbation: "ארי שבחבורה… בר אבהן ובר אוריין.. שלם בכל מדות טובות שמנו חכמים".
This sefer is second part from the first edition (printed between the years 1855 – 1873). The pamphlet ‘Chaim Shenayim Yeshaleim appears in the beginning of the sefer and then continues with the sefer Petach HaDvir from chapter 191 – 241.
