Kaf Zahav. Holy poem by the "Angel Raphael", Rabbi Raphael Berdugo. Hand written. Morocco, 18th-19th century.
Lengthy poem with a moral lesson. Slightly different than the version printed in the sefer ‘Mei Menuchot’ by the author.

Rabbi Raphael Berdugo (1749-1822), was known as the "Angel Raphael", was a dayan, a scholar, and one of the greatest rabbis of Morocco. His father was Rabbi Mordechai of Meknes, Morocco (descendant of Rabbi Moshe Berdugo "Hamashbir", close friend of Rabbi Chaim Iben Atar the "Or HaChaim" HaKadosh). He was orphaned at the age of 15, and studied Torah in abject poverty, as he wrote himself in one of his sefarim that he learned: "מתוך הטירוף ומתוך יוקר השער ומתוך חוסר כל ירחם השם". He was appointed as abd in his hometown and was accepted in all Moroccan communities as the foremost posek of the time. Authored many sefarim, among: Mishpatim Yesharim, Rav Peninim, Sharvit Ha’Zahav, Torot Emet, Mei Menuchot, and more.
