‘Kvitel’ – Written by the Holy Rabbi Yehoshua of Poltosk the son of the Holy Gaon Rabbi Elazar HaKohen Author of ‘Shut Maharach’ and the Rav of Plock, Poltosk and Sochatchov, was the son-in-law of the Gaon Moron the Chavat Da’at of Lisa. 

The Kvitel, which begins as is customary with the name of the place of residence ‘Sochatchov’ where his father Rabbi Elazar served as Abd and Reish Mesivta and where his son, Rabbi Yehoshua the writer of the Kvitel, succeeded him. Then appears his name and that of his wife the Rebbetzen Mrs. Tzirl and the name of their only son Rabbi Yeshaya. At the end of the Kvitel, Rabbi Yehoshua respectfully notes his father’s lineage ‘ממני יהושע בהרב מוה’ אלעזר הכהן חתנא של חוות דעת מליסא זצ"ל’.

The Tzaddik Rabbi Yehoshua of Poltosk the son of the Holy Gaon Rabbi Elazar Hacohen of Poltosk, one of the great Chassidim of Parshischa-Kock and Gur and the Holy Rabbi of Tchenchnov and son of the daughter of Moron the Chavat Da’at of Lisa. Succeeded his father in Sochatchov. Authored the Etz Avot Kuntras about the history of his forefathers and with precious Torah innovations by his Rabbis and father and by him. The son-in-law of the Chassid philanthropist Rabbi Naftali Gestil of Prague-Warsaw.
