Letter of testimony regarding the Kashruth of a woman handwritten and signed by the Holy Gaon Rabbi Moshe Clears the renowned Rabbi of Tiberius, Tiberius – 1931.
In the letter, a woman testifies about the kashruth of another woman with whom she had lived for a certain time. At the end of the letter (after the witness’ signature) the Holy Gaon Rabbi Moshe Clears confirms that she had signed before him and adds his stamp and handwritten signature.
The Holy Gaon Rabbi Moshe Clears (1876-1934) one of the Geonim and Tzaddikim of his generation, the Chief Rabbi of Tiberius since 1909, the founder of the large yeshiva ‘Or Torah’ who had thousands of students who were Chassidic Talmidei Chachamim, Marbitzei Torah and Morei Hora’ah. He was known as one of the leaders of the generation who acted within the framework of Agudat Yisrael. He acted firmly against the National Council and against the incessant attempts of Zionist circles to gain control of the Jews of the Land of Israel.
