Signatures of great luminaries  of the previous generation on a letter for the sake of Sabbath observance. Jerusalem, 1960.

The letter (which was sent to the organizers of the national conference for the sake of the Sabbath in Tel Aviv) is signed by Gedolei HaDor: the Gaon of Tshebin – Rabbi Dov Berish Widenfeld, the Gaon Rabbi Zalman Sorotzkin – the chairman of Moetzes Gedolei haTorah, Rabbi Eliezer Yehuda Finkel – Rosh Yeshivat Mir, and the Geonim Rabbi Ezra Atiyya and Rabbi Yehuda Tzeddaka – the Rashei Yeshivat Porat Yosef. 

In the letter, Gedolei HaDor appeal to the organizers of the conference for the sake of Kedushat HaShabbat, writing: "Shabbat Malketa … has been despoiled within the palace of a king … due to our many vices, hundreds of workers whose fathers stood on Mount Sinai hearing from    G-d "זכור את יום השבת לקדשו", are working in industry and trade, unwillingly and willingly…"
