Rabbi Yehuda Ben Moyal (1828-1911), Tzaddik and Gaon Rav , renowned in his generation. Was born in Taroudant to his father Rabbi Makhluf. Grew up in Mogador and in his youth moved to Essaouira. He studied with his uncle Rabbi Yaakov Ben Shabbat. Served as Domatz of Asfi and as Rosh Yeshiva. Later he returned to Mogador and served as its Rabd until 1910. He immigrated to the Land of Israel in 1910 and passed away several months later in 1911. He was buried on the Mount of Olives. Author of the Shut ‘Shevet Yehuda’.
