Long Response about matters of Eruvin in a city with a Mavoi of 15 cubits, by the Holy Gaon ‘Gedol Hador’ Rabbi Moshe of Hermilov a disciple of the Holy Rabbi Moshe Leib of Sassov to the Well-Known Gaon the Beit Ephraim of Brad.
In the response of 8 pages written clearly and in depth, he responds to the answer of the Beit Ephraim about a city with a Mavoi of 15 cubits and humbly discusses the Beit Ephraim’s words: ‘ואנכי לא באתי להשיב על דברי רומכ"ת, רק מקוצר בינתי לא הבנתי דבריו וצריך לי ביאור, והנה אנוכי כתבתי במכתבי הנשאר פה דאפשר דהלכתא גמירי לה נמי לענין זה דבעינן שיהא סמוך לכותל…מתאבק בעפר רגלו ואפים ארץ אשתחוה מרחוק מול הדרת קדשו. הק’ משה במ"ה יעקב זללה"ה’.
The renowned Holy Gaon Rabbi Avraham Yosef Moshe Abd of Hermilov the son of the Holy Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Hermilover who was the brother-in-law of the Holy Gaon Rabbi Avraham Rubenstein author of ‘Ateret Zekenim’. One of the greatest Rabbis of his generation, whom Raban shel Israel the Holy Divrei Chaim of Sanz called ‘Gedol Hador’ in his approbation of his sefer ‘Imrei Moshe’. He corresponded on halachic issues with all the greatest rabbis of his generation. [Is referred to in the Shut Magen Giborim siman 14 and in the Sefer Shut Yehoshua and more]. Was a leading disciple of the Holy Rabbi Moshe Leib of Sassov and was a member of his holy group. In his sefer, he presents Divrei Torah he heard from him. Was the father- in-law of the author of ‘Da’at Kedoshim’ of Buchach. Passed away in [1836]. Among his descendants are the Podhorzer and Ludmir families of Safed.
