Lengthy responsum on Hilchos Gittin handwritten by the Great Gaon Rabbi Sheraga Zvi Tennebaum the son of the Holy Gaon Rabbi Ze’ev Wolf Tenenbaum author of ‘Rechovot Hanahar’ and the brother of the Holy Gaon Rabbi Yaakov author of ‘Nahar Afarsemon’. Was sent to his in-law the Gaon Rabbi Avraham Yaakov, the Rav of important cities in Hungary. Was sent and written on Thursday Beha’alotcha, 1869. In Sendra.
The Gaon Rabbi Sheraga Zvi author of Neta Sorek stormingly and in sharp language refers to the complicated affair of the Gett that was sent to Gedolei Yisrael to ask whether she was divorced before she married another.
More than 33 lines, all handwritten by him. On the lower part of the responsum, he sends his regards to his mother and brother in-law as does his youngest son rabbi Moshe. The body of the responsum was printed with slight changes in the important Sefer ‘Neta Sorek heChadash’.
The Gaon the Holy Rabbi Sheraga Zvi Tenenbaum [1826-1895] author of the Sefarim ‘Neta Sorek’ Shut on the Shas and Derashot. One of Gedolei HaDor. The son of the Holy Gaon Rabbi Ze’ev Wolf Tenenbaum author of ‘Rechovot Hanahar’ and the brother of the Holy Gaon Rabbi Yaakov author of ‘Nahar Afarsemon’. The Rav of Sendra for dozens of years, where the responsum before us was written. Eventually, he became the rav of the ‘Meza Tshata’ community, where he founded a large yeshiva amd taught Torah and Halacha for more than twenty years. His son-in-law, Rabbi Yehuda Altman succeeded him as Rav.
