Important and lengthy [46 lines] letter handwritten entirely by Posek HaDor the Gaon Rabbi Meir Arik. On matters of removing the dead from their graves if they were buried in one grave with gentiles. Later in the letter, he responds about Taharat Kohanim who wash their hands before they ascend to Duchan and the Hechsher of a special utensil for it.
The letter bears the date: Friday, the eve of Shabbat Chukat 1921 here in Wien’ and it was sent to ‘My Friend the sharp and proficient pedigreed rabbi Shmuel Meir Motz in Chernowitz‘.
On the margins of the letter, Rabbi Meir Arilk adds: I do not have my Shu"t sefer ‘Imrei Yosher’ at hand …
The Great Gaon Posek HaDor Rabbi Meir Arik Abd of Torna [1855-1926], one of the great Poskei HaDor, Rabbi of important communities. A disciple of Posek HaDor the Maharsham of Berzen. The close friend of the Gaon Rabbi Yosef Engel of Bendin. Some of his disciples were among the greatest Geonim of Poland and Galicia: the Maharam Shapiro of Lublin, the Holy Gaon of Koziglov, the Holy Gaon Rabbi Yehudali of Dzhikov, the Gaon Rabbi Yehoshua Mendel Aharenberg, the Gaon Rabbi Meshulam Roth of Chernovich, the Gaon Rabbi David Schperber of Brashov and many others. Many of his Torah innovations and writings were lost in turbulent times, however very little were published in his sefer on all parts of the Torah.
The Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Meir Hacohen Hollander [1889-1965] Abd of Amasna, Drohovich and additional towns. Rabbi of the Neveh Tzeddek neighborhood of Tel Aviv. The son of Rabbi Natan David of Amasna and the son-in-law of Rabbi Shalom Hager of Strazhnitz. Was a pedigreed Cohen whom the Holy Rebbe of Belz recommended as a Cohen for Pidyon HaBen. A disciple and loyal Chassid of the Kedushat Zion of Bobov, the Maharid of Belz and the Mahara of Belze, Gabd Tshebin and the Chazon Ish.
