In the letter, Rabbi David deals with the Mitzvah of "תשביתו שאור מבתיכם" and additional matters, demonstrating extensive knowledge and sharpness. 

The writer, the Gaon Rabbi David Guttman, a great philanthropist from Tarna. He dedicated his days to the relentless study of the Torah, his business being managed by his wife. Rabbi David was a fierce opponent of the Hassidic Movement; however, due to his wife’s sickness and her cure after receiving the blessing of the Holy Rabbi Shlomo of Bobov, he drastically changed his opinion and was tied to the Rabbi with every ounce of his soul.
