Letter by the Holy Rabbi the Knesset Yechezkel of Deyzh to the Rabbi of Kollel New York Rabbi Hillele Klein. Deyzh- 1924.
In the letter, the Holy Rabbi of Deyzh appeals with a recommendation for an young man of a pedigreed family (R. Shimshon Margaliyot of Safed the son-in-law of Rabbi Shimshon Heiman of the family of the Gaon Rabbi Menachem Mendel Sternberg called Ramam Deyzher the head of the Tiferet Moshe Yeshiva in Safed) towards his arrival in America. He pleads with Rabbi Klein to care for him and make an effort to find him a rabbinate position ‘since he was forced to leave the Holy Land due to the war…’
The Holy Rabbi Yechezkel Panet (1870-1930) one of the great Tzaddikim of Transylvania. Studied with his grandfather the Holy Rabbi Menachem Mendel Panet and by his instruction, started laying Tefillin at the age of seven. He also studied at the yeshiva of the Holy Rabbi the Minchat Elazar of Munkatch. Already at a young age he corresponded with many of Gedolim of the generation including the Darkei Teshuvah.
The Rabbi of Kollel New York Rabbi Hillel Klein one of the leading Rabbis of New York in the period before World War II. Served as the president of several important organizations including Kollel Shomrei HaChomot. He used to say that from all his many titles, the only one he does not bear proudly is "Hillel Klein" He passed away on 6 Nissan 1926.
