Genuine silver Tabak Pushka (tobacco case), in the shape of a fish, opens to two parts: the head, and the body with tail. The part of the body and tail, can shake and move from side to side, imitating a live fish swimming in water. The eye of the fish is made of a round bluish gemstone.

Certificate attached from one of the great Rabbanim of the Sofer family.

The Gaon Rabbi Meir Leib Frei Rav of Shuran (1878-1944), great Rosh Yeshiva and posek of his generation. His father Rabbi Yitzchak Tzvi, was the beloved son-in-law of the ‘Ketav Sofer’. He acquired much Torah from his Rebbe and Uncle Moron ‘Shevet Sofer’ and his great Rebbes and geonim Rabbi Kaleiv Feivel Shlesinger Rav of Topoľčany author of ‘Toraht Bar-Nash’ and Rabbi Mordechai Leib Winkler author of ‘Levushei Mordechai’ Rav of Mad. The day he married the daughter of his uncle the Gaon Rabbi Yeshayehu Ehrenfeld Rav of Shuran he was appointed to succeed him and from then he was referred to everyone as ‘Shuraner Rav.

Weight 47 gram. Length 14 cm. The hinge connecting the head to the body is disassembled.
