A basic Chassidic sefer. Sefer ‘Avodat Yisrael’, Drushim on the Torah and on Pirkei Avot, by the Holy Rabbi the renowned Maggid Rabbi Yisrael of Kozhnitz. First edition. Josefow, 1842.
[4], 90, 32 leaves. Two title pages. 20.5 cm. Stamps and ownership inscriptions.
This copy lacks page [5], with three approbations. This page was added to only some of the copies, since the approbations were brought to the printer after the sefer was printed.
Many stains. moisture stains on some of the pages. Some tears, moth damage, some restored with tape. Gluing on the title pages, with slight damage to the frames and to the text on the back of the second title page. handwritten inscriptions and stamps.
New beautiful leather binding. General good condition.
