Unique copy, ‘Yad Yosef’ on Matters of Shechita and Bedikot, authored by Rabbi Yosef Tuvia Abramowitz. Single Edition, Jerusalem – 1928. The Personal Copy of the Holy Admor author of Divrei Emunah of Toldot Aharon.
With approbations by great Rabbis of Jerusalem, Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Hacohen Kook and Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfedl and additional Rabbis.
The Gaon Author Rabbi Yosef Tuvia Abramowitz was born and grew up in Kelm, Lithuania. He moved to England and for 22 years served as Shochet in Manchester. He printed an early edition of the sefer in Poltova however almost all the copies were lost during World War I (except for three volumes that reached the author). Later, he printed in Jerusalem this edition before us.
The Personal Copy of the Holy Admor author of Divrei Emunah of Toldot Aharon. The Rabbi signed his name on the title page: "Avraham Yitzchak Kahn". In addition, the author’s stamp appears on the pages of the book.
Rabbi Abraham Yitzchak Kohn of Toldot Ahaon [1914-1997] the founder of the Toldot Aharon dynasty and community. The son-in-law and successor of the Holy Rabbi Aharon Roth author of ‘Shomer Emunin’ and ‘Taharat HaKodesh’. Was born in Safed to his father Rabbi Shmuel David HaKohen and to his mother, the great-granddaughter of the Holy Rabbi Shmuel Heller the Rabbi of Safed. When he was a child, his family moved to Europe where he studied Torah at the Huedin Yeshiva and in Seklhid with the Holy Gaon Rabbi Yehuda Segal Rosner. He also studied Torah from the Holy Gaon of Satmar. After his marriage to the only daughter of the Holy Rabbi Aharon Roth author of Shomer Emunin, he became one of his most prominent disciples.
After his father-in-law’s passing, most of his father-in-law’s Chassidim followed him and he established the holy community of ‘Toldot Aharon’. In the fifty years that he served as their leader, he was known for his Avodat HaKodesh, his selfless devotion and his great toil. Thousands used to come to watch the lighting of the bonfire on Lag BaOmer at the gravesite of Rashbi in Meron and thousands came to celebrate Zecher LeSimchat Beit HaSho’eva at his central Beit Midrash in the Meah She’arim neighborhood of Jerusalem.
