The Holy Gaon Rabbi Naftali Teitelbaum Gabd Nyirbator [1867-1938], one of the greatest Rabbis of Hungary in his generation. One of the leaders of the war against the Zionist Movement. The son of the Holy Gaon Rabbi Israel Yokel Teitelbaum Abd of Volova, the son of Rabbi Shmuel Abd of Gorlitz the son of Rabbi Eliezer Nissan of Drohobych the son of our Holy Rabbi the Yismach Moshe of újhely. On his mother’s side, Rabbi Naftali was the son of the daughter of the Holy Gaon the Yitav Lev. For forty years he served as the Rabbi of Nyirbator. He was admired and revered by the greatest rabbis of his generation. He was renowned for his radiant Rabbanut, his pure prayers and the yeshiva he had founded in his city, where great rabbis studied.
