Letter of Blessing by the Admor Rabbi Yaakov Yosef of Spinka to the Activist Rabbi Shmuel Weinberg (the mayor of Bnei Berak), Bnei Berak, 1977.
In the letter, the Admor expresses his gratitude to Rabbi Shmuel Weinberg for the gift he had sent him – Sefer ‘Otzar Erkei HaTorah, BeOhalei Yissachar’ authored by his father Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Heschil Weinberg – the Admor of Slonim in Tel Aviv and sends him his warm regards.
The Admor Rabbi Yaakov Yosef Weiss of Spinka [1912-1988] the grandson of the Holy Rav Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac author of the Chakal Yitzchak of Spinka, served as a young Rav in Warsaw. He lost his wife and three children in the Holocaust. After the Holocaust, he reestablished the Spinka institutions in the USA and Israel and was acknowledged as one of the greatest Admorim after the Holocaust.
The activist Rabbi Shmuel Weinberg [1923-1999] one of the builders of Bnei Berak, a descendent of the Admorim of Slonim. From a young age he worked for the welfare of the residents of Bnei Berak in many areas. Among others, he established the "Em VaYeled" sanatorium for birthing mothers in the city and even served twice as its mayor.
