Drush for Parashat Vayera, handwritten by the Divine Kabbalist Rabbi Shmuel Vital, the 17th century.

Drush for Parashat Vayera, handwritten by the Divine Kabbalist Rabbi Shmuel Vital, one of the greatest disciples of his Holy Gaon father the Divine Kabbalist Rabbi Chaim Vital.

The Divine Kabbalist Rabbi Shmuel Vital, Av Beis Din of Damascus, one of the greatest disciples of his Holy Gaon father the Divine Kabbalist Rabbi Chaim Vital, who inherited his father’s writings and edited them, wrote the Torah of his father and the Kabbalistic Torah of the Holy Ari. His father greatly admired him and ascribed him importance. He passed unto him his entire wisdom which he had received from his Rav the Holy Ari and said of him that his soul is a root of the Holy Ari’s soul and additional special praises. His disciples included the renowned Holy Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Tzemach [the editor of Rabbi Shmuel Vital’s writings]. Was considered an expert on the Torah of the Holy Ari as Rabbeinu the Chida wrote of him in Shem Hagedolim: It has been thirty years since "Shmonah Shearim" have been published, edited by the son of Rabbi Chaim Vital, Rabbi Shmuel, and they can be relied on … therefore he who wants to study the more precise Seforim will study "Shemonah Seforim" edited by him".
