* Kinyan HaChaim (Koift Levin), a short article on Tefilah and Teshuvah, first edition, Riga, 1928.
With the communist revolution in Russia, the authorities began limiting orthodox Jews. The Rebbe Rayatz, who feared no one, established a secret network of Talmudei Torah and yeshivas. Due to these actions, he was arrested and suffered much abuse. With the efforts of the member of the Latvian parliament R. Mordechai Dobin, one of the leaders of Agudas Yisroel, the Latvian government conditioned the signing of its trade agreement with Russia upon his release. After his release, he settled in the vicinity of Moscow; yet fearing continued persecution, eventually moved to latvia. While he was there, he authored the article before us to encourage Jewish hearts to Avodas Hashem.
