Letter handwritten and signed by the ‘Machaneh Chaim’ the Holy Gaon Rabbi Chaim Sofer, the Rav of Munkatch.
"He deserves being talked to harshly since he did not study well, but G-d forbid that I do so with a young man may he receive the truth and grow up asking for the good and right in the way of teaching". A responsum to R. Gabriel Miler, by the Machaneh Sofer, about the blessing of Bedikat Chometz.

The Holy Gaon Rabbi Chaim Sofer the ‘Machaneh Chaim’ [1822-1886] author of the ‘Machaneh Chaim’ Seforim. One of the greatest Poskim of Hungary. Succeeded his Rav, Moron the Chasam Sofer in fighting Milchemes Hashem Bagiborim by isolating from the Neological communities. He laso studied with Moron the Kesav Sofer, the Maharam Esh, the Holy Gaon Rabbi Binyomin Wolf Loew author of ‘Sha’arei Torah’ and with Rabbi Hillel of Kalmay. Served as the Rav of several important communities and was appointed the Rav of the community of Munkatch, one of the largest and most important communities in Hungary of those days. In 1879, he became the Rav of the orthodox community of Budapest and was the first to hold the position after the separation of the communities of Hungary.
Aging stains, fold marks, tears along the fold lines and a hole in the center, wear and blemishes in the perimeter of the leaf affecting the text, fair condition.
