‘A year of blessing and success and Nachas with all his descendents’. A wonderful letter of blessings for the New Year by the Holy Rav Rabbi Chaim of Kosov to the renowned Gaon of Barashov Rabbi David Sperber author of ‘Afarkesta DeAnya’ and a member of Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah. Kosov, 1936.
In the year of ‘Birchot Chaim’, the holy Rav Rabbi Chaim of Kosov writes to the renowned Gaon Rabbi David Sperber, the Rav of Barashov, one of the greatest rabbis of Romania, and one of the important Chassidim of Kosov Vizhnitz. The letter contains blessings for the New Year, mey he be written and signed in the book of the Tzaddikim for a good, pleasant and happy life and be blessed from the source of all blessings for a year of blessing and success and Nachas with all his descendents and all the members of his family and may Hashem Yisborach help to study Toras Hashem Temima … and may Hashem Yisborach help us see the building of Zion and Jerusalem our holy city and may we merit to hear the voice of the Shofar for our freedom and redemption his friend … who prays for him and looking forward to salvation – Chaim Baharav Hatzaddik of Kosov … the line of the signature and the last words are handwritten by th eholy hand of the Holy Rav of Kosov.
The Holy Rav Rabbi Chaim of Kosov [the second] the son of the Holy Rav Rabbi Moshe the son of the Holy Rav Rabbi Yaakov Shimshon of Kosov and the son-in-law of the Holy Gaon the Machzeh Avraham of Brod. His Avodas Hashem typical of the Kosov Chassidim was of great fame. many from nearby areas came to his court to observe his prayers and be blessed by his blessings.
[1] lines paper stamped on its upper part with the Rabbi’s stamp, as an official stationery. 22X14 cm. Scribal script, with his pur handwritten signature. Minor stains. Very good condition.
