Holy letter by the Holy Rav Rabbi Avraham Elimelech of Karlin to assist a Jew, a Talmid Chacham of the refugees of Russia. Was sent to the ‘Ezras Torah’ organization. Ca. late 1930s.
In the letter, the Holy Rav Rabbi Avraham Elimelech appeals to the rabbis and the philanthropists of the holy institutions ‘Ezras Torah’ to come to the aid of his friend the Gaon Rav Rabbi Aharon Lamdan who was exiled from Russia. The letter contains an important reference by the Holy Rav Rabbi Avraham Elimelech to the financial situation in all countries, and especially the terrible situation of the persecuted refugees from Russia.
The letter, written by a scribe, is hand-signed by the Rabbi and with his stamp ‘אברהם אלימלך פערלאוו קארלין – פינסק’, and in Latin.
Official stationery of the Rabbi, 14X22 cm. Fold marks, small tear to margins, without affecting the text. Very good condition.
