Marriage certificate for the marriage of Rabbi Avraham Zvi Roth, the future renowned Ba’al Tefilah of Gur, handwritten and signed by the Holy Rabbi Nechemya Alter, the son of Moron the Holy Rabbi the Sefas Emes of Gur and the first Rosh Yeshiva of the Sefas Emes Yeshiva. Jerusalem, 1926.
The marriage certificate was written by a scribe and on it, the Holy Rabbi Nechemya Alter added lines handwritten by him: the names of the witnesses the renowned Hassidim Rabbi Mordehcai Yudl Einfeld Av Beis Din and R. Yitzchak Meir Halevi, to which he added their profession and occupation and his pure signature.
The Holy Rabbi Nechemya Alter [1875-1942], the third son of the Holy Rabbi Moron the Sefas Emes of Gur, the brother of Moron the Holy Rabbi the Imrei Emes and the in-law of the Holy Rabbi the Lev Simcha of Gur. His only grandson is the Holy Moron the Admor of Gur Shalita. Served as Rosh Yeshiva of the Sefas Emet Yeshiva in Jerusalem in its first years. From the side of his father-in-law, he was a grandson of great Tzaddikim, the Holy Rabbi the Saraf of Cock and his grandson Rabbi Hirsch of Lomazh and the Holy Rabbi Yaakov Aryeh of Radzimin.
Rabbi Avraham Zvi Roth ‘Rabbi Avraham Hersch Ba’al Mussaf’ – a Ba’al Tefilah at the holy court of Gur for approx. forty years. With his voice, he awakened many hearts to Teshuva and good deeds. He married in 1926. passed away in 1985.
