‘How Much will the Building of the Baranovich Yeshiva Cost?’ Historical Letter by Moron the Holy Gaon Rabbi Elchonon Wasserman Specifying the Expenses of the New Building of His Yeshiva, Several Months before the Rise of Evil. sivan 1939
Important and historical letter handwritten and signed by Moron the Holy Gaon Rabbi Elchonon Wasserman specifying the expenses of the new building of his yeshiva, several months before the rise of evil. Sivan, 1939.
In the letter, which is written on the official stationery of the Wood Industry Company of R. Yechiel Rabinowitz of Baranovich, the latter specifies the entire costs of the ‘building of the holy yeshiva Ohel Torah in Baranovich‘, including all the expenses on wood, iron and other metals.
On the signed list, Rabbi Elchonon added in his holy handwriting that all these expenses are for the need of the many and for the condstruction of the additional building for the brew house and yeshiva, that is the dining room and kitchen of the yeshiva students. ‘The assumption is that approx. a thousand Zloty more will be needed to finish it’. Rabbi Elchonon notes that R, Yechiel Rabinowitz is the qualified and trustworthy treasurer of the yeshiva.
The Holy Gaon added his pure handwritten signature ‘אלחנן בונם וסרמן יום ה’ מ"ד בעומר צ"ט ברנוויטש‘. A total of 7 lines in his holy handwriting.
