Extremely rare and pedigreed copy! Yedei Eliyahu, on matters of Talmudic Takanot which are Deorayta and which Derabbanan, authored by the Gaon Rabbi Eliyahu Galipapa, one of the Geonim of Kushta, single edition, Constantinople, 1728.

The author Rabbi Eliyahu Galipapa was one of the greatest rabbis of Kushta in his generation, admired by everyone, whom Rabbi Akiva Eiger cites and discusses.

The copy before us had belonged to the Lev Aryeh family, one of the most important families of Jerusalem. Appearing on the title page is the signature of the Gaon Rabbi Raphael Avraham Lev Aryeh (one of the greatest rabbis of Jerusalem at the turn of the 18th 19th centuries, served as a Shadar on several journeys for the residents of the Land of Israel. Everywhere he visited, he was asked, due to his greatness, to serve as a Posek. A responsum from him appears in the Sefer Zera Emes by Rabbi Yishmael Hacohen of Modena – one of the sages of Italy, author of the Piyyut ‘יום זה יהי משקל כל חטאתי’. In his old age, despite his weakness, he went on an additional Shadarut journey to help the residents of Israel who suffered greatly due to the wars of Napoleon). In addition, appearing on the title page is an additional signature of one of the members of the family: "The young David Lev Aryeh". In addition, on leaf 6 there is a notation signed by another family member, Rabbi Chananya Michael Aryeh.

The Lev Aryeh family received its name following a special event that happened to the father of the family Rabbi Yaakov. During a Shadarut journey in 1579, he refused to travel on Sabbath and his convoy continued without him. Miracuously, a lion came to guard him and even let him ride on its back to join the members of the convoy. "הן עם כלביא יקום וכארי יתנשא"…
